What Is Spring Lake Park Traveling Basketball Club (SLPTBC)? Minimize

The Spring Lake Park Traveling Basketball Club (SLPTBC) is a non-profit organization that provides youth in the Spring Lake Park School District #16 attendance area the opportunity to learn and enjoy the game of basketball at a competitive level. Our focus is on teaching basketball fundamentals, promoting team play, improving individual skills and having fun in order to promote a life-long enjoyment of the game of basketball.

The SLPTBC consists of 4th through 8th grade teams for boys and girls.  They compete against teams from other cities at a higher level of skill and competition than recreational or in-house leagues. There is also a higher level of commitment needed to play traveling basketball, because there are more practices per week and about 35 games per season.  If you want to challenge and develop your basketball skills, this is the program for you.

In addition to our traveling basketball club, our area also has a recreational basketball effort (referred to as "in-house") through the Blaine/Spring Lake Park Atheletic Association. This starts at 2nd grade and goes through 8th grade. This is an alternative for players to potentially develop for the competition of traveling basketball.

Many of our former players have been successful in playing for our high school boys and girls teams. Go Panthers!
